
Northern Irish pianist Cathal Breslin will be performing a piano recital at
Duncan Recital Hall,
Shepherd School of Music,
Rice University in Houston
on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 7:00pm.
This concert will be part of his US tour, sponsored by CultureIreland within the Imagine Ireland project, a year of Irish Arts in America. Concerts will be in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida,Texas and New York City, before going to London England for a recital at the prestigious Wigmore Hall.
The concert at Rice University is free and no tickets are required.

- Philip Hammond: Forgotten Longing (New Work based on the poem "Ireland" by John Hewitt)
- Prokofiev: Piano Sonata No. 4 in C minor Op. 29
- Chopin: The Four Ballades
Cathal Breslin has been praised worldwide as one of the most exciting artists of his generation. Top prizewinner in many international competitions, including Viotti in Vercelli (a World Federation International Competition), he has recently performed throughout Asia in China, Korea and Japan; throughout the U.S. in Florida, Ohio, California, Michigan, Texas, and New York, including Carnegie Hall; throughout Europe inSpain, Italy, Greece, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Poland and Portugal, U.K. and Ireland.
In August 2011, Dr. Breslin joined the faculty of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he directs the piano studies program.
