-10/17/11 -Michael Davitt Irish Open at Cypresswoods Golf Course
Welcome to the 2011 Michael Davitt Irish Open. This year's tournament will be held on Monday, October 17. We will be returning to Cypresswood Golf Club. Registration begins at 10:30 am with lunch and tee-off at 12 pm.
The cost for this event is only $125.00. This price includes entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch, dinner, beverages on course, gift bag and more to come later.
This year's golf tournament is dedicated to our dear friend, Billy Carr. Billy loved the Irish Open and the Parade. In fact, Billy loved all things Irish. The best way to honor Billy is to make the Irish Open a big success. The Irish Open is important because the money made on the Irish Open benefits the 2012 St. Patrick's Parade. A good golf tournament helps raise the seed money for the Rory Miggins Memorial Irish Stew Cook-Off, which in turn benefits the parade.
I know that many of you do not play golf, but want to help the tournament. You can to this by sponsoring a hole. The cost of a hole sponsor is $150.00 but if you have a team, it is $100.00. You can reserve your hole sponsorship by replying to irishmkk@aol.com and I will get you the form. This is a good way to advertise your business or do a tribute to a loved one,
Also if you have a team, it is not too late to sign up, It will only be too late at 12:01 pm on the day of the tournament, Applications are available on our website at www.hsppc.org or you can use the application attached.
This year, we win not only crown this year's champion team, but the Pub with the best score will win the 4th Annual Pub Tournament.
If you cannot make the event or you do not play golf, you can join us for the 19th Hole Reception and dinner following the tournament. You can also sponsor a hole for $150.00.
To help us properly plan for this event, please pre-register by filling out the reverse side and fax it to 713-661-6604 or on our website @ hsppc.org. Also, for your convenience, you can pay for your golf outing and hole sponsorships on our website. Please make your reservations by October 1, 2011 by calling Jeannie Kearns @ 713-365-9648.
All proceeds benefit the Houston St. Patrick's Parade.

"If you still haven't caught up with this group yet then why not? They are magnificent live in concert, and [One Foot in the Ether] proves that they are just as excellent in the studio . . . I could carry on raving about every track on the album, but instead I will just highly recommend that you go out and buy this fantastic album.
Also make sure you try and get to see these guys in concert as soon as you can." —MAVERICK ". . . what makes these Heathens so refreshingly different is the overall musicianship and seamless blending of alt-rockers, folk tales, gutbucket blues and heartland anthems."—
"The Band of Heathens, an Austin-based group, played the best set I came across during my five nights in town (at SXSW 2009)."—THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
"One Foot in the Ether is sure to reinforce the band's place in the Austin music scene . . . ready-made for sitting on the back porch with a cold beer, a rock 'n' soul affair evocative of Little Feat, The Band and The Black Crowes."—AUSTIN-AMERICAN STATESMAN
One Foot in the Ether bears the musical influences of forbears like the Band and the Black Crowes while embodying timeless lyrical themes of salvation and sin. Bass player Seth Whitney and drummer John Chipman make for a sympathetic rhythm section, keeping the trio of equally matched talents upfront tied together seamlessly. —COUNTRY WEEKLY
