THE FIRST DANCE IS A TEACHING SESSION
Contra dancing is a type of American folk dancing with roots in English
traditions. It is done in lines of couples, women facing, or contra,
men.
A caller directs the dance; teaching each dance as it starts.
No extra lessons are required.
Contra dance is easy, free, and flirtatious.
Contra dance is moving, active, aerobic exercise,
so wear comfortable clothing like tee shirts, shorts,
skirts, and tennis or dance shoes.
If you can walk and follow directions, you can contra.

Songbird Sanctuary
Fri, Feb 17: The bad boy of folk, Eric Schwartz, will give us an
adults only show
so he can let loose with some of his less delicate observations that
were
banned from his several Kerrville main stage performances in recent
years.
A super talent no matter how you slice him, Eric is exceptionally
funny,
he can
satisfy any age or sex (or orientation) with heart-filling crooning,
indulge your silly side
with doo-wop and pop, but make you think thrice with his twisted story
songs and societal exposés.
