Bad & Good News About Irish Aires Pre-Emption on 02/18/06

Bad & Good News!! BAD NEWS: In order for KPFT to broadcast The Katrina Survivors’ Town Hall Meeting from SHAPE Center in Houston on Saturday, February 18 from 6-7 p.m. IRISH AIRES HAS BEEN PRE-EMPTED for tomorrow night ONLY. GOOD NEWS: On Friday, March 17th (St Patrick’s Day) Irish Aires will broadcast your favorite Irish Music on KPFT (90.1FM & on the Web) from 1:00-3:00PM (central standard time – 7:00-9:00PM Irish time) MORE GOOD NEWS: Thanks to your support, Irish Aires made his goal in the current fund raising campaign!! & MORE GOOD NEWS: Having tomorrow off, PETE, BERTHA & myself can spend the whole afternoon at the Irish Stew Cook-off at the W. Alabama Ice house (see details below). Pete is heading the Irish Society’s entry into the contest & I am spinning the recorded music (between live sessions). Come on out! The Chili will warm you up!! St Patrick’s Parade Irish Stew Cook-Off Entertainment Schedule 1pm The Bold Mike Davitt with the World Famous Bones Band 2pm Melanian 3pm MacTaggart Irish Dancers 3:30 Murder the Stout 4:15 Awards Ceremony 5pm Murder the Stout (During breaks house Irish Music provided by IRISH AIRES) 02/18/06 - Irish Stew Cook-off at the Alabama Ice House. Corner of W. Alabama & McDuffy. The cook-off will begin @ 1:00 pm. There will be 3 cooking catagories: Irish Stew, Texas Irish Stew (Chili) & Open Irish Catagory. This can be Corned beef, colcannon, shepherd's pie, etc. The entry fee is $25/category & $65 for all three. HoustonStPatricksParade.org
