Scottish Country Dancing & More

December 14, 2005 SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING AND MORE (SCDM): WEEKLY EMAIL NEWSLETTER http://diannashipman.home.att.net/ IN THIS ISSUE: SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING AND MORE (SCDM) CALENDAR YEAR END CHARITABLE GIFTS SAN ANTONIO BALL 2006 VOTE FOR "MURDER THE STOUT" A WORLD OF MUSIC WITH EILEEN IVERS, VIOLINIST VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE CELTIC MUSIC GROUPS OF 2005 GREEN HOUSTON CONNECTION SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING AND MORE: NEXT WEEK: CHRISTMAS THEME - bring a wrapped gift (no more than $10) to exchange Dec. 28 - NO DANCE SATURDAY DEC. 31 - NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY! TONIGHT: Just me and the guys - I was the only woman tonight - so ladies - please come next week :-) Since none of the men wanted to dance the woman's part . . . we did line dances, ceilidh dances including Brittania Two Step (for 3 people), waltzes, International dances, and listened to some Christmas music, then went to Berryhill's. iPOD MAGIC: I'm really enjoying my new Apple iPOD; I've loaded all 100 of my Scottish Country dance CDs plus a number of other types of dance CDs (1500 songs+) and it only used 10% of the space; I can plug it into a karaoke machine or a sound system or a TV set or computer; I've organized playlists by type dance and # bars and it already displays listings by song, album, artist, etc. The sound is wonderful. A big thank you to Bud Norton for the wonderful Christmas present, and to Carolyn Maddox for her assistance in making a purchase decision. And I'm having a great time with iTunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/ - and I've barely scratched the surface of the things it can do - last night I found a Christmas album by BONNIE RIDEOUT called "Celebration" which I was able to download for $9.99 and then burn a CD so I can play it in the car and I can load it onto the iPOD as well and it's on the computer so I'm listening to it now as I write this :-) COME DANCE WITH US!
