[Irish Aires] - Paul Boyle, RIP

Laura Garett gave me the following bad news: Paul Boyle, of Killybegs in Donegal, was killed in an automobile accident earlier this week. His family is arriving from Ireland on Sunday evening, and a memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 6 at 4:00 at Settegast-Kopf funeral home at 3302 Kirby, Houston, Texas. Paul's family is, of course, devastated with this news, and we'd like to have as many people at the service as possible to support them through this difficult time. I think it would be so nice to support this family with their loss, especially during the holiday season. They will be returning to Ireland with his body for burial on Tuesday. You can find more information about Paul at http://www.biomachina.org/people/pboyle/ I'm not sure where the family will be staying, but if anyone wants to send condolences, it would probably be best to send them directly to the funeral home. Their number is 713.526.2411.

(Thanks to Padraig McDonagh for passing on this additional information about the services for Paul Boyle. Jay) I've just been informed that Dublin native John "Max" McElroy, the owner of the Irish pub where Paul and his friends met (and some of them work) has invited everyone over to "McElroy's Irish Pub" after the service for some food and drinks that he will provide. The family has approved this and friends / students / colleagues from UT are invited. McElroy's Irish Pub is in Houston at 3607 S. Sandman (713-524- 2444). It's located half a block west of the Richmond and Shepherd intersection in the Shepherd Plaza. It's a very short distance from where Paul's Memorial Service will take place. For more information visit http://www.mcelroyspub.com/ Please come and meet with friends and family at the place where Paul spent much of his private life in Houston.
