Spring Sponsorship Drive
For two weeks every spring, we change the format of our
show in order to remind you that KPFT & Irish Aires is
sponsored by YOU.
Not by the soap or drug companies; not by the governments;
Not by Pacifica (in fact you sponsor them too, because KPFT
supports Pacifica).
So we change our format a bit & try to convince our
sponsors to continue their sponsorship & also try to
convince more listeners to become sponsors.
We do this because it is the most effect way we have of
communicating with you are members & listeners. In fact,
if we could get just double our members (from our listening
audience), we would have to spend a lot less time asking
for your support.
IF you have joined our membership in the past, please consider rejoining during this drive; if you haven’t joined yet, this is the time, join the Irish Aires / KPFT family.
Irish Aires is heard on KPFT-FM (90.1FM in Houston Texas)
and on the internet (both live and in archived versions)
KPFT is a non-commercial, community supported radio show.
They except no corporate or commercial sponsorship. The
receive a modest amount of support from the Corporation for
Public Broadcasting & grants, but 90% of their budget is
provided by individual contributions (which average about
$60 each).
Because of the need for your continued support, we need to
take time out of our regular broadcasting schedule to
request your support.
In addition to our broadcast which feature Irish/Celtic
music, we regularly include Irish news from Dublin and a
listing of local Celtic events. We also hosts special
guests to discuss issue of interest to the Irish &
Irish/American community.
We also provide various resource on the internet. They

As we have said before, we don’t need people to give a lot;
we need A LOT OF PEOPLE to give. Your individual support
at any level will help the station stay on the air and
Irish Aires to continue into its 25th Year.
You can contribute to Irish Aires by calling 713-526-5738
during our shows on May 13th or May 20th between 6:00-
7:00PM OR you can complete the below form and return to me
via email (rdooling@swbell.net ) or via US mail to Irish
Aires, KPFT, 419 Lovett, Houston, Texas 77006.
Basic membership costs are $25 for students & people on a
fixed or lower income; regular membership goes for $35 per
year.
If you can give more, we have been the beneficiaries of
some Irish/Celtic music CDs that we would like to give you
in return for a $60 contribution (even if you can only
afford to pay it out at $5 per month). See details of
available CDs below.
But it is more important for you to contribute, no matter
what the amount. Wide-spread, small contributions give our
station support from the community of people who appreciate
our programming and internet information.
We have some thank you gifts for contributions. If you can
contribute at the $60 level you will get one of the
following CDs. If you can contribute at the $90 level, you
will get two of the following. (Availability of individual
CDs is limited, so it is first come, first serve).
