Constant Billy News!

We’ve got lots going on this month to tell you about, but the really BIG NEWS is that the long-awaited Constant Billy CD, “Let Me In” is finally here! To celebrate, we’re having a CD release party at The Stag's Head Pub in Houston on Saturday, February 18. Details are below. Can’t wait ‘til then? No problem- come on down to the Bayou City Farmers' Market this Saturday and get an advance copy of the CD to go with your kohlrabi. In between, we’ll be featured LIVE on KTRU’s legendary radio show, Chicken Skin Music and we’ll close out the month with an appearance at the St. Andrews Celtic Festival. Whew! Here’s the complete skinny: This Saturday February 11, 9-11am at the Bayou City Farmers' Market located in the parking lot behind the building at 3000 Richmond at Eastside in Houston There's no better time to get outside and check out this great urban farmers' market with homegrown purple cauliflower, huge free-range eggs and superb homemade pâté. We'll provide the music while you indulge yourself. NO COVER! The worthy David John has hosted Chicken Skin Music for 30 years now, and his program is considered one of the nation’s top shows for acoustic and traditional music. We’re completely jazzed about being asked to perform! Tune in and catch the show from the comfort of home! What: Live radio performance on Chicken Skin Music (you can also stream the audio if you’re set up for it) Where: 91.7FM KTRU (a Houston Press Best of Houston pick) When: Thursday February 16, 8-10pm How Much: FREE (if you own a radio or a computer) ---- Saturday February 18, 4-6pm “Let Me In” release party at The Stag's Head Pub, 2128 Portsmouth St., Houston, Texas 77098 (713) 533-1199 This will be a great party- outside if the weather is warm and nice, in the Oak Room if not. The Stag's Head has just been voted Best Pub in Houston in the Houston Press reader's poll. The food is excellent, the St. Arnold's Cask Conditioned Ale may be the best beer on this side of the Atlantic, and the music is surely the best anywhere! NO COVER. The fun starts at 10:30am; we are tentatively scheduled to perform 1-2pm. They've hired some top acts- Murder the Stout, the Flying Fish Sailors, Sia Beaton , and of course, Constant Billy. The place will be rocked by pipe and drum bands, while a whole slew of dancers perform, including our friends the Men of Houston Morris Dancers and the Good Time Scottish Dancers. All this for a paltry $2 admission, or $5 for a family. You can't lose!
