Irish Aires Continues To Need Your Help
Three or four times a year, Irish Aires (and the other
programs on KPFT) have to interrupt their normal
programming for a couple weeks in order to ask for your
support.
KPFT is a community-based, commercial-free radio station
that has chosen not to accept corporation underwriting.
Therefore, in order to bring you Irish Aires & all the
other diverse music & talk show programs that are on the
air 24 hours a day/ 365 days per year, we need your
financial support.
Your contribution, along with others in the community, help
KPFT and Irish Aires stay on the air in an ever increasing
world of consolidated, homogenized media. Your
contribution (at a minimum level) also entitles you to a
membership in KPFT. Members have the right to run and vote
for the Board of Directors who manages KPFT and the other 4
Pacifica radio stations.
In return for your support, Irish Aires provides the
following:
a) Weekly Irish/Celtic programming live on KPFT (90.1FM
in Houston) and live and archived on the web at
http://www.kpft.org
b) Daily Irish news via our Irish Aires news emails or
blog.
c) A listing of local area Irish events via the Irish
Aires emails or blog.
d) The Irish Aires web page and links found at
http://IrishAires.org .
We don’t need a lot of money from anyone; but we do need
lots of people to contribute what they can. Please
consider giving us your financial support.
You can contribute to Irish Aires by calling 713-526-5738
during our shows on May 14th or May 21st between 6:00-7:00PM
OR you can complete the below form and return to me via
email (rdooling@swbell.net ) or via US mail to Irish Aires,
KPFT, 419 Lovett, Houston, Texas 77006.
Basic membership costs are $25 for students & people on a
fixed or lower income; regular membership goes for $35 per
year.
If you can give more, we have been the beneficiaries of
some Irish/Celtic music CDs that we would like to give you
in return for a $60 contribution (even if you can only
afford to pay it out at $5 per month). See details of
available CDs below.
But it is more important for you to contribute, no matter
what the amount. Wide-spread, small contributions give our
station support from the community of people who appreciate
our programming and internet information.
We have some thank you gifts for contributions. If you can
contribute at the $60 level you will get one of the
following CDs. If you can contribute at the $90 level, you
will get two of the following. (Availability of individual
CDs is limited, so it is first come, first serve).
